COMPUERS; DO WE NEED THEM?

 Today , in our country for example , I think every child, even in remote areas has heard this word- computer. Some may not have seen it but it is the most popular machine not only in Sri  Lanka but in the whole world. The computer is a part of life. But there are both advantages and disadvantages in using a computer.

                

In this age of information explosion with the development of  technology , there is a need to use computers. It helps to information fast by just clicking a button. On the other hand the range of information is so wide that selecting what you need can be troublesome unlike a book which has limited content However information about any subject is easily accessible on the computer . This is a huge benefit to a child's education.

Another popular facility of the computer is that it provides all types of entertainment . Modern youth and even very young children are clever in selecting their own choise , movies , music , games cartoon or even non- fiction reading.

The newest machines are so streamlined that they can be carried around like the mobile phone. So the computer can be used wherever you are. This can lead to addiction and specially children might forget that there is beautiful world outside the machine.
